The event took place on Thursday (16th) at Heaven’s Hotel, Haliela, in the presence of Mrs. Sri Nagavani Raja, the Vice President of the Sri Lankan Chapter of the Cholan Book of World Records.
Acting as the adjudicator, Mrs. Sri Nagavani Raja carefully observed the entire record attempt and officially confirmed the child’s achievement as a world record.
Mirthik Dhev was honored with a framed world record certificate, medal, ID card,badge, memento, and file in recognition of his outstanding accomplishment.

Mr. Kuganantharaja, aged 61, from Vantharumoolai in Batticaloa District, has made history by setting a new Cholan World Record. He achieved this milestone by remaining in the Sirsasana (headstand) yoga posture for an uninterrupted duration of five hours, and 5 minutes, demonstrating extraordinary endurance, focus, and discipline. His remarkable effort was not only a test of physical strength but also aimed at spreading awareness about the profound benefits of regular yoga practice in promoting physical and mental well-being.
The record-setting event took place at Vantharumoolai in the gracious presence of Hon. Member of Parliament Mr. Gnanamuththu Srineshan and Hon. Dr. Ilayathambi Sreenath, who lauded the achievement as a true inspiration for the younger generation.
Mr. Kuganandarasa commenced his attempt at 4:01a.m. and successfully maintained his balance in the inverted position until 9:05 a.m., creating an awe-inspiring moment that highlighted the limitless potential of human determination, regardless of age.
